Asia-Pacific Regional Integration: Measuring, Monitoring and Improving Performance for Sustainable Development

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organizes a Regional Capacity Building Workshop on “Asia-Pacific Regional Integration: Measuring, Monitoring and Improving Performance for Sustainable Development”, from 22 to 23 April 2020, UNCC, Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop is part of the 11th Tranche Development Account Project, jointly implemented by ECA, ESCAP and ESCWA Secretariats.
The purpose of the workshop is to improve the knowledge and understanding of policy analysts in government departments and think-tank institutes of developing Asia-Pacific countries on the use of regional integration measuring and monitoring for better policymaking with a view to deepen regional integration. The workshop provides a platform for an update on the current dynamic of regional integration and key factors driving such dynamic, and to introduce tools developed by ESCAP secretariat for measuring a country’s progress on regional integration, and monitoring how the country has performed in regional integration when sustainable development and digital trade integration are considered.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of resource persons and participants during the evolving situation of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the ESCAP Secretariat has taken the decision to organize the above-mentioned event as an ONLINE workshop.
