The 5th Training of Trainers of the Asian and Pacific Network for Testing of Agricultural Machinery (ANTAM)
The Asian and Pacific Network for Testing of Agricultural Machinery (ANTAM) is an initiative led by the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) of ESCAP that aims to harmonize testing standards for agricultural machinery in the Asia-Pacific region. The ANTAM Standard Codes promote the use of safe, efficient and environmentally sound agricultural machinery in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Alongside the development of the Codes, ANTAM promotes their application through trainings of engineers and experts from member countries participating in the network. The 5th Training of Trainers is being organized by CSAM in collaboration with the China Agricultural Machinery Testing Center (CAMTC) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.
The training programme aims to provide an overview of international certification systems, including the ANTAM Codes, and best practices for quality control for testing facilities. Additionally, participants will tour testing facilities and participate in demonstrative tests. This year, the ANTAM Training of Trainers is organized back-to-back with the 5th Meeting of the ANTAM Technical Working Groups. TWG members and training participants will jointly visit an agricultural machinery exhibition and attend practical training and field testing on the implementation of the ANTAM Codes.
